New Farm Family Dairy Project - click to view

Butler County is an agricultural county. There are 1,160 farms on 345,500 farmland acres. Most farmland is gently rolling and well suited to the production of corn, soybeans, small grains and forages. Butler County farms raise corn, soybeans, food grade soybeans, forages, hogs, beef cattle, and dairy. Numerous agricultural services, 7 veterinarian firms, numerous local grain, feed and agricultural chemical companies, agricultural lenders, and farm implement dealers support these farms. Farming is economically important to the region and provides over 20% of the total employment earnings in the county.
